The Empty Nester Club

Welcome to my fairly new “CLUB” the Empty Nester Club.

This season isn’t about “moving on” it’s about moving forward—carrying the best of who we were into who we are becoming. Change is scary and good at the same time, I promise.

You’re not alone in this. Not even close. We navigate it the same way we’ve handled every hard season before: with grit, purpose, and a willingness to adjust without losing ourselves in the process.. And honestly, if we can handled raising those little humans to be the best versions of themselves then we are more prepared for this chapter than we think.

Going from a house of six to a house of two is a huge shift. The house is quieter, the grocery bill smaller, and the calendar no longer revolving around school activities and sports schedules. Add in 30 years of ARMY spouse life, moves, deployments etc and that’s not just a transition—that’s a full identity reset.

This season can feel unsettling, even lonely at times,. But here’s the part we don’t talk about enough: this season also belongs to us. Empty nesting isn’t the end of motherhood; it’s a shift. We’ve spent decades putting everyone else first, but now we are first. We’re not done. Not even close. This is simply a new chapter, and like all the ones before it, we’ll figure it out, but this time we will figure it out together.

So follow along here, where I will share a few ways I’m learning, growing and driving on in this season of life, the “Empty Nester” life that is.

Blessings, mommas, we got this,

Jenn

Hey, I’m Jenn, semi-retired military spouse, mom of four and a NYer turned OKie. After 30 years of moving and starting from scratch, my husband, soldier, Dennis and I decided Oklahoma was our last stop. We built our forever home, “The Roost” here in SW Oklahoma.

When I’m not out running, leather working, volunteering or with the chickens, yes, a new thing for me, I’m in the garden. I love to learn and experiment how to grow here in SW Oklahoma. My favorite part is to bring the garden to the table.

I’m so glad you guys are here! We can all learn, share and “Grow” together through this journey.
