January reads/listens
Well January went flying by. The minute the Christmas tree and decorations came down on January 6th, it felt like 2026 officially started. Somehow, I managed 18 books this month. Yes, eighteen. I’m still a little shocked myself.
My favorite and only read, minus my daily reflection, was I Died On a Tuesday, by Jane Corry. I literally couldn’t put it down, I heard my self give a few audible gasps and “oh my goodness” moments. The way the story unfolds through three different perspectives of the same main event was so well done. It kept me hooked from start to finish. I enjoyed it so much that I’ve already encouraged both my Book Worms, book club and our Spouses Club group to read it as well. That’s how you know it’s a good read.
This year, I’ve also made a point to intentionally add memoirs into my reading mix—ideally one a month, or at least regularly. For January, I listened to My Next Breath by Jeremy Renner. What an incredible journey. His story of trauma, recovery, and the determination to move forward is powerful and humbling. If you get the chance, I highly recommend listening to it in his own voice—it adds another layer to an already moving story.
January set the bar high, but I’m here for it.
Onward to February and whatever reads or listens it brings.
What did you read or listen to in this first month of 2026?
